How To Use Double Film Asphalt Joint Tape

When the urban road maintenance department repairs the road potholes, the double film asphalt joint tape is used to treat the road pavement joints, which makes the combination of new and old pavement better and the maintenance time shorter. In the process of repairing the road potholes, when the pavement potholes are treated with double film asphalt joint strips, the general process is as follows:

Step 1, using relevant equipment milling out a rectangular pit, with 2 meters x3 meters and more than 10 centimeters deep. The pit is angular. The size of the pit is cut according to the area of road damage at that time. After cutting, clean the floating soil and loose stone in the pit.

Step 2: When using the double-film asphalt seam tape, first, remove the protective film on one side, and then paste it on the facade around the pit. Knock it down with tools such as a rubber hammer, and then remove the protective film on the other side.

Step 3: Use asphalt sealant or emulsified asphalt brush on the bottom of the road pit. After brushing, about 10 minutes later, the color darkens, that is, breaking of emulsion.

Step 4, Spread the cold asphalt mix material in the dug pit, compacted, finished and smooth.

Step 5, After compaction, open the traffic.
